City Hall

Whether you're looking for a quality community for your family or a good location for your business, McKenzie's got you covered.

Located in northwest Tennessee, McKenzie boasts a population of some 5,420 people within city limits and many more just outside city limits. McKenzie is the hub of the tri-counties of Henry, Weakley and Carroll with most of the town lying in Carroll County.

Known for its Southern hospitality, McKenzie is a favorite place for many retirees and others from all parts of the United States. We welcome you to visit us and experience for yourself the benefits of rural living in a temperate climate in which you can enjoy each of the four seasons.

With one of the largest available workforces in the area, it's ideal for businesses of all sizes. It's located less than two hours away from two major transportation centers (Memphis and Nashville) and affords easy access to interstates 40 and 65. Carroll County is also served by an award winning airport with a 5,500 foot runway and by CSX Railways.

Combine that with a quiet Southern town that still knows the value of family and you've got a great location, you've got McKenzie. Education is a big part of Carroll County and we recently invested more than $20 million in new buildings and renovations for the school system. At the next level, Bethel College and the Tennessee Technology Center help provide the area with top notch higher learning. Bethel recently added a new football stadium, soccer field and tennis courts as well as a number of new housing units to its campus.

McKenzie is also located in an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Our own Carroll Lake provides a great area for family activities including a picnic area, golf course and of course fishing. Nearby Kentucky Lake, just 30 minutes away, is famous for its fishing and hunting opportunities and often referred to as "The Crappie Fishing Capitol of the World" -- and the new 1000-acre Carroll County recreational lake is just 20 minutes away.

Also nearby is The Dixie Carter Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center in Huntingdon (our county seat) among other attractions.

Adding to the attraction is our Class-3 Fire Department--the best rating of a city our size in the state, which has a considerable impact on insurance premiums--and our outstanding Police Department, all of which contribute to a high level of public welfare and safety.

So if you're interested in good living, abundant recreation, and real family values that count come see us. The South is where it's happening, and we're right in the heart of it!
